As of the mid-1980s Dr. Dakessian has conducted research on diverse aspects of the Lebanese Armenian community, particularly on its economic and cultural output. As Director of the Armenian Diaspora Research Center, he has organized a number of conferences:
a) “The Republic of Armenia and Diaspora Relations: Past Present and Future” (in collaboration with the Diaspora Ministry of the Republic of Armenia and the Diaspora Department of the Yerevan State University, September 5-7, 2011).
b) “Armenian Trans-nationalism and the Modern Age of Communications (May 15-17, 2013)
c) “Issues of Armenian Identity” (in collaboration with the Diaspora Department of the Yerevan State University, 16-18 October, 2013).
d) Armenians in Lebanon, II (May 14-16, 2014).
Dr. Dakessian is a member of the Haigazian University Administrative Committee. For over 15 years he directed Student Life at Haigazian University.
