The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics hosted the President of the Emerging Category at Coca Cola Company, Khalil Younes over a lecture entitled “The Wisdom Talk”.
Younes who joined over zoom from the Coca Cola headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, shared his avid interest and rich experience in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) businesses, namely at Procter and Gamble (P & G) and recently at Coca Cola.
Younis tackled the importance and sensitivity of organizational cultures in those global firms, as a pillar of organizational success and advancement in the career path of employees.
At P & G, Younis fondly shared a cherished slogan “failing to plan is planning to fail” used across the company’s culture. In Coca Cola’s case, the slogan “refresh the world and make a difference” is used as a guideline globally.
Younis went further in describing the special organizational attributes that make Coca Cola so special and successful globally. These are summarized in adopting an outstanding consumer strategy and operational execution, in addition to following a special growth model based on availability, affordability and acceptability, and last but not least, in adopting a cultural model that believes in togetherness, humility and collaboration.
